Arcadian Shores Beach Renourishment — 2026 Status
Last updated: June 12, 2026
The Arcadian Shores section, just north of Myrtle Beach city limits, was a locally funded add-on to the federal project. It addressed severe erosion near Bear Branch and Singleton swashes.
What to Know
- Unlike the rest of the project, Arcadian Shores was funded locally by the City of Myrtle Beach in partnership with Horry County — no federal money was used for this segment.
- Work targeted erosion hot spots near the Bear Branch and Singleton swashes.
- Crews worked the segment in March 2026, with a second dredge pass in mid-to-late April 2026.
- Beach accesses in Arcadian Shores have reopened. Check the live tracker for any equipment still staged in the area.
